AL HALA and Bahrain Club set up an exciting quarter-final clash last night in the Khalifa bin Salman Cup.
Al Hala booked their berth in the last eight following a comfortable 96-67 win over Sitra while Bahrain Club marched through with a 106-94 triumph over Al Ettihad at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
Mansour Kasse from Senegal scored 25 points to lead Al Hala to a fine victory with the winners leading by a massive 31-7 margin at the end of the first quarter.
They stretched that advantage to 61-20 at half-time before going up 85-40 by the end the third quarter.
Hasan Gerashi added 12 points for Al Hala, Ahmed Khalifa 11 and Hussain Salman 10.
Sitra, who were without a professional player, were paced by Abdulla Ali’s 18 while Ali Eid (15) and Mahdi Abdulameer (11) were the other main scorers.
Meanwhile, Serbian import Dragan Tubak poured in 36 points to spearhead Bahrain Club in their win against Al Ettihad.
Bahrain Club went ahead 32-22 after the first period and stayed 58-50 in front at the interval. They enjoyed a more impressive second-half leading by an average of 19 points on way to the big victory.

Khalid Ali scored 16 for the winners while Jalal Akbar contributed 14.
Al Ettihad also didn’t have an import, but Fadhel Abdulelah fired 32 points to lead their team while Ali Ghadeer chipped in with 15.
Two more games are scheduled for today with the winners setting up another quarter-final clash.
Al Ahli face Samaheej at 5.45pm while Al Najma take on Nuwaidrat at 7.30pm. Muharraq, Isa Town, Manama and champions Riffa were given automatic berths in the round of eight.
