Abu Dhabi: The Russian aviation watchdog on Wednesday said that all ground and on-board navigation, landing and communications systems functioned as normal on the Flydubai passenger jet, which crashed in Rostov-on-Don this March.
All the 55 passengers and seven crew members died in March 19 crash when a Flydubai Boeing 737-800 plane hit the ground while attempting to land at the Rostov-on-Don airport.
"At the time of the accident, the ILS, outer and inner markers, the lighting system and PAPI lights were operative and operated as per design. The aircraft flight recorders did not record any evidence of improper operations of navigation and landing aids," the IAC said in an interim report issued on Wednesday.
Flydubai reiterated firm commitment to highest safety regulations and operational as per the rules governing international civil aviation, reported Arabic Emarat Al Youm.
It announced that it conducts regular thorough review of all safety recommendations to ensure their compliance with high-end international civil aviation criteria.
This came in reply to the publication of the Interim Report Reference Information on Accident Investigation by the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).
Flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al-Ghaith issued a statement welcoming publication of the Interim Report (Preliminary Reference Information) on Accident Investigation by the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).
“We would also like to thank the investigating authorities for their continued commitment to investigate this tragic accident. With regard to the five initial flight safety recommendations, Flydubai has, as part of the ongoing communications within our emergency response plan, continued to update our crew and engineers with the information published by the IAC,” he said.
