Muscat: Oman's health ministry figures have revealed that out of its total number of 83,769 coronavirus cases, 3,053 of those infected were children.
The children are under the age of four, Omani newspaper al-Shabiba reported.
Of the overall infections, 51,589 were Omanis - 61,382 of the cases males while 22,387 were females, the ministry noted.
The country has also recorded 609 deaths of which 406 were Omanis and 203 foreign residents.
The ministry’s figures also showed that Muscat takes the lead in the numbers of recorded infections with 41,865.
Last week, Omani authorities lifted a ban on the nighttime movement that was imposed to curb the spread of the disease.
