MANAMA: Production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in Bahrain may start early next year, said Bahrain’s Ambassador to Russia Ahmed Al Saati.
The production facility is almost ready for operation, which will also provide all other virus vaccines, he said.
Mr Al Saati was speaking as he took part in a symposium at MP Ibrahim Al Nafea’s majlis.
Bahrain and Russia have agreed that holders of Sputnik V certificate can enter both countries without being subjected to any other tests or measures and an agreement in this regard will be signed soon.
They have also agreed to sign an agreement early next year mutually scrapping entry visas, he added.
A high-level Bahrain business delegation, led by Bahrain Chamber chairman Sameer Nass, will visit Russia on July 28 to attend the Kazan economic summit in the Tatarstan Republic, he pointed out.
