The Bahrain under-23 football team have left for a training camp in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
The camp, to be held until July 27, is part of preparations for the 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
The delegation includes team manager Shaikh Salman bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, coach Ismail Karami, assistant coach Adel Al Nuaimi, guard coach Abdullah Bilal, fitness coach Walid Sharaf Al Din, technical analyst Abdullah Al Maqhawi, administrator Khaled Shaheen and physiotherapist Syed Muayyad Al Alawi.
Coach Ismail Karami chose a list of 28 players for the camp. They are Ammar Muhammad, Omar Abdel Basit, Younis Moussa, Adnan Fawaz, Abdullah Al Hayiki, Abdul-Rahman Sayed, Ali Khalifa, Hussein Al-Attar, Ahmed Al Shrooqi, Hussein Abdul Karim, Abdullah Freih, Ibrahim Sherida, Muhammad Marhoon. Hamza Abdullah, Ali Al-Dosari, Ali Muftah, Syed Muhammad Amin, Faisal Abdullah, Hassan Issa, Fahd Jassem, Muhammad Ahmad, Ziyad Basil, Ibrahim Al Khattal, Hussein Tawfiq, Hamad Fouad, Faisal Hassan Habib, Hamza Al Jebben and Abdullah Nimer.
The camp includes an extensive training programme, in addition to friendly matches, ahead of the qualifiers to be held in Bahrain from October 27 to 31. Bahrain, who are in Croup C, will play Iraq, Afghanistan and Maldives in the qualifiers.
The 2022 AFC U-23 Asian Cup will be held in Uzbekistan from June 1 to 19 next year.
A total of 16 teams will play in the final tournament, including Uzbekistan who qualified automatically as hosts.
