Manama registered their second consecutive win in the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League.
They defeated Al Khalidiya 2-1 in the second round at the Bahrain National Stadium last night.
Manama went a goal behind when Mahdi Humaidan scored for Al Khalidiya in the 15th minute.
However, two goals by Syrian Muhammad Al Hallaq in the 72nd minute and Mahdi Abdul-Jabbar in the 87th minute secured Manama the victory.
Manama now lead the overall standings with six points, while Al Khalidiya are on three.
Meanwhile, in an exciting second match at the Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium, East Riffa edged past a fighting Muharraq 3-2.
East Riffa took the lead through Ahmed Rashid in the 40th minute. But Muharraq equalised through Ahmed Al Shorouqi’s header in the 45th minute and went ahead through Jordanian Mahmoud Al Mardi at the start of the second half.
The last minutes of the match witnessed great excitement after East Riffa equalised through Sami Al Husseini in the 83rd minute, before substitute Marsh Brown secured them three points by scoring the winner in the 90th minute.
With this win, East Riffa have raised their points to four while Muharraq are at one.
In the third match of the night, Al Najma drew with Al Hala 1-1.
Abdul Aziz Khaled scored for Al Hala in the 44th minute, while Al Najma equalised through substitute Ali Mounir in the 62nd minute.
The second round of the competition concludes today with two matches at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium.
Riffa take on Hidd at 6.30pm and Al Ahli face Budaiya at 9pm.
