MORE than 30 positive cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) were reported from eight households last week.
The Health Ministry’s contact tracing details from October 7 to 13 highlighted five clusters, all within Bahraini families, initiated from symptomatic adults.
A 34-year-old male citizen revealed 11 family-related positive cases across three different households. They include his mother, siblings, nieces and nephew.
A 39-year-old female citizen was found to have infected nine members of her family – including her children, sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephews.
A 44-year-old female citizen was linked to a cluster of seven family-related positive cases across two different households. The cases detected include her daughter, father, brother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephews.
Finally, a 52-year-old male citizen revealed his wife and children as positive cases through direct infection, resulting in a total of six positive cases from one household.
The week recorded 468 cases of which 325 were Bahrainis and 143 expatriates. Local cases for the week totalled 375 while travel-related were 93.
The ministry also reported 92 cases infected from close contacts. A total of 108 people tested positive after developing symptoms, 74 during random community screening and 101 after quarantine.
