THE kingdom will come alive with the sound of music next month as part of an annual festival that promotes culture and diversity through a series of performances.
Every year in October, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) stages the Bahrain International Music Festival, bringing together a line-up of local, regional and international artists boasting different melodic genres and styles.
This 31st cultural festivity is also held in celebration of International Music Day, which falls on October 1.
While the theme has yet to be announced by Baca, the concerts have been unveiled, starting on October 1 with the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by renowned military maestro Major General Dr Mubarak Najem at 8pm at the Bahrain National Theatre.
Over the years, Major General Najem has been spreading his symphonic sound throughout the kingdom in a bid to encourage aspiring artists to never give up on their musical dreams and unify people through their love of music.
People can then enjoy an evening of authentic Moroccan heritage on October 2 by the Rabat Troupe for Instrumental Music at the Cultural Hall at 8pm. The Rabat Troupe was founded by Mohamed Amin Al Dabi in 1987 and has collaborated with the Moroccan Ministry of Culture on various projects.
