Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa yesterday received the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Jordan Ramy Al-Adwan, as well as Palestine Ambassador Taha Abdulqader.
Relations that unite Bahrain with the two countries were discussed, and ways to develop them to achieve common goals were also in the spotlight. Regional and international issues of common interest were also on the agenda.
Dr Shaikh Abdullah stressed Bahrain’s position, which is in agreement with the Jordanian and Palestinian sides, on the need to respect the historical and legal situation in Jerusalem and the role of Jordan in managing Jerusalem’s endowments and the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in addition to ensuring the freedom to practice religious rites for all religions.
He also highlighted the importance of the international community shouldering its responsibilities to achieve a just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution, in accordance with resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, and in a manner that seeks security, peace and prosperity for the countries and people of the Middle East as a whole.
