Bahrain: Work on a sewage network in Nabih Saleh has been completed.
A total of 310 properties have been connected to the Nabih Saleh Islan Sewerage Network Project in blocks 380, 381 and 382, announced the Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Ministry yesterday.
Connections have been made to 63 vacant plots too for future use.
The project comprises a 17.5km sewage network, a 6.5km drainage network and a 1.5km pressure extension from Nabih Saleh to the North Sitra Treatment Plant.
It also includes a 2km line to transfer treated water from the plant to Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Avenue.
“The project is part of the ministry’s comprehensive plan aiming to improve sanitary services in the Capital Governorate and provide a healthier environment,” said assistant under-secretary for sanitary engineering Asma Murad.
“Most houses on the island have been connected to the public network and the plant, except for the old housing project.
“Also, a drainage network has been constructed and sewage pipes have been extended along the new Sitra Causeway.”
The BD6,500,000 project was awarded to Jalal Al A’Ali and Sons.
