Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi attended the graduation ceremony for the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 batches of the Bahrain Polytechnic, at its premises in Isa Town yesterday.
Addressing the ceremony, he expressed delight at the graduation of new batches, affirming that the landmark achievements of Bahrain Polytechnic are the fruitful outcome of its commitment to His Majesty King Hamad’s directives, as well as the result of the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the development of the educational march in the kingdom.
Dr Al Nuaimi expressed thanks and appreciation to the board chairman and members, as well as the administrative and teaching staff for their contributions to its achievements.
He also extended congratulations to the graduates and their parents, expressing confidence that they will contribute to building the nation in the best way.
“The Education Ministry will continue its efforts to ensure strong interconnectedness among technical schools, the Bahrain Training Institute, the College of Applied Studies at Bahrain University and Bahrain Polytechnic, to unify the national efforts in this regard,” he said, noting that 36 per cent of intermediate students are willing to join technical schools.
He pointed out that the ministry has launched a number of curricula related to artificial intelligence and robotics for all academic levels, in addition to promoting the principle of equal opportunities for male and female students by providing appropriate technical and technical disciplines for female students.
“Efforts to develop technical and vocational education will continue in co-operation with Unesco and international think tanks,” he affirmed, adding that the Centre of Excellence for Technical and Vocational Education at the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Institute of Technology is working with Unesco to provide courses and workshops for teachers.
Bahrain Polytechnic chairman Wael Al Mubarak asserted that the achievements of Bahrain Polytechnic are the result of the directives of the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the efforts of the Supreme Council for Development of Education and Training to build capacities of human resources in the kingdom.
Bahrain Polytechnic chief executive Dr Ciarán Ó Catháin thanked Dr Al Nuaimi, and Mr Al Mubarak for their role in ensuring the success of the institute’s strategy.
