AN Indian cinema chain, Mukta A2 Cinemas, opened its first theatres in Bahrain yesterday.
A mixture of Arabic, Indian and Hollywood movies were screened at the soft launch of the chain’s six theatres located in Juffair Mall, which has a total seating capacity of 960.
Owned by Mukta Arts Limited, an Indian production house founded by film director Subhash Ghai who has over 40 films and a globally recognised brand to his credit, the cinema is currently the sixth largest multiplex chain in India.

It also has distribution and programming business and opened Asia’s largest film, television, animation and media school – Whistling Woods International.
The cinema with a state-of-the-art sound system, boasts dynamic seating options for the first time in Bahrain, according to its owners.
Each of the six theatres is equipped with comfortable and luxurious seating alternatives such as VIP recliners, sofas and rockers to accommodate the needs of moviegoers.
Concessions at the cinema include personalised order tracking and ‘service on seat’, among others.
