Saudi Arabia welcomed its first pilgrims for the Haj season on Saturday as several flights from countries benefiting from the Mecca route initiative arrived in the country.
The pilgrims’ arrival procedures were completed in record time through the initiative, one of the Ministry of Interior’s programmes under the Pilgrim Experience Programme, part of Saudi Vision 2030.
The initiative enables completion of entry formalities, health requirements, and baggage processing at the departure hall, allowing pilgrims to proceed directly to buses transporting them to their accommodations in Mecca without waiting at passport counters or baggage claim.
