The BDF General Command has announced that it has started registration for civilians willing to volunteer to join its reserve force, in continuation of the first phase.
Relatives of workers and retirees who have served in the BDF and the National Guard, in both military and civilian sections, can apply.
Applicants must be Bahraini nationals, aged between 18 and 55 and of good conduct. The age limit does not apply to technicians and specialists.
They must not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanour, involving moral turpitude or dishonesty.
Volunteers must also be medically fit for military service in the reserve force and successfully pass a medical examination prescribed by the BDF’s military medical
committees.

In the first stage, registration will only be for male citizens, whose relatives are affiliates of the BDF and the National Guard.
In the second stage, registration will be open to the rest of the society – both men and women.
The Reserve Force Law, promulgated by Decree-Law (5) of 1987, regulates all rights and duties of the Reserve Force as an auxiliary force for the BDF and guarantees benefits and entitlements.
