A fire at Viva Energy Group's Geelong refinery in southern Australia, the largest of Australia's two oil refineries has hit petrol production, authorities said on Thursday (March 16), just as the nation faces pressure to shore up fuel security with the Iran war disrupting global supply.
The blaze was reported at around 11 pm (1300 GMT) local time on Wednesday (April 15) and is at the MOGAS Unit, Fire Rescue Victoria said in a statement, adding that all staff were accounted for.

No injuries have been reported from the fire, which emergency crews were alerted to at about 11 pm (1300 GMT) on Wednesday.
The refinery can process up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day, according to the company's website.
The refinery employs over 1,100 people, supplying over 50% of Victoria’s and 10% of Australia’s fuel, the website said.
