Director of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, Shaikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, met Wednesday with European Union ambassadors to discuss the situation at Kuwait International Airport, especially in regard to challenges facing the civil aviation sector.
In a statement to KUNA following a high-level meeting organised by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the attendance and participation of ambassadors of European Union member states accredited to the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah explained that the meeting discussed several important topics related to the civil aviation sector in Kuwait.
Discussions focused on the current situation at the airport following the Iranian aggression, as well as ways to support airlines and develop the air transport environment to enhance Kuwait's position as a regional air transport hub.
He added that the meeting addressed the most prominent challenges and opportunities in the civil aviation sector and ways to strengthen cooperation with European Union countries in this vital field, in a manner that serves common interests and supports the country's development.
