Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan met National Bank of Kuwait in Bahrain (NBK Bahrain) general manager Ali Yusuf Fardan.
Mr Fardan briefed the minister on the bank’s efforts to employ Bahraini nationals, who make up 100 per cent of the bank’s employees, and stressed that the national workforce have professional skills and competence in various banking operations.
Mr Fardan highlighted the bank’s positive achievements since 1987 in the kingdom, thanks to the cohesion and growth of the Bahraini economy and work environment.
Mr Fardan pointed to the development and modernisation of banking operations that NBK witnessed due to the interest and support of the government of Bahrain for the banking and financial sector.
The minister said that the bank’s Bahrainisation programme is a great example of the private sector contributions for offering jobs for locals, hailing the skills and expertise that Bahraini banking and financial competencies obtain regionally and internationally.
He highlighted the ministry and Tamkeen’s efforts to qualify more banking and financial workers in the developing sector.
Mr Humaidan thanked NBK Bahrain for their support and interest in paving the way for citizens in the field that further contributes to raising their professional level and providing them with opportunities to pursue various job positions in the banking and financial field.
