The State Ministry of Information and media authorities of Egypt issued a joint statement reaffirming the strong and historic ties between Egypt and the Arab countries, particularly those facing Iranian aggression, including the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, and Jordan.
The statement, signed by the State Ministry of Information, the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, the National Press Authority, and the National Media Authority, stressed that these relations are a cornerstone for protecting the vital interests of the Arab nation, and that any attempt to undermine them is morally and nationally unacceptable.
The signatories called on media professionals, intellectuals, and opinion leaders in Egypt and the brotherly countries to stop media disputes lacking factual basis, promote reason and the spirit of brotherhood, and prevent forces seeking to sow division from exploiting the current situation.
Citizens were urged to be cautious of rumours and false information on social media, rely only on official statements from relevant authorities, and avoid sharing content intended to create discord.
The Egyptian media authorities also announced the immediate use of legal and professional measures to regulate media performance, prevent harm to national interests, and safeguard relations with brotherly countries, while calling on the authorities in these countries to take similar steps to protect Arab unity and stability.
