Bahrain were up against really tough opponents in Syria. But they showed their fighting spirit and prevailed, 2-1, in the last few exciting moments of the match.
These young lads are the future of Bahraini football. I was particularly impressed by the composure the team showed when Syria equalised 1-1 with less than a minute to go in injury time. They bounced back right away and young midfielder, Adel AlRomaihi scored the winning goal with just seconds left.
I hope they show the same indomitable spirit in their next game against Saudi Arabia and qualify for the semi-finals.
