HOPE Ventures and a private investor have invested a total of $125,000 in OrderJet, an F&B solution provider, during the second episode of entrepreneurship-themed reality TV show Beban’s second season.
Co-founded by Ali Haji and Yusuf Almahmood, the Bahrain-based app digitises restaurants’ operations through the provision of QR code services, pick-ups, and bring-to-car services.
Saudi angel investor Dr Abdulelah Algosaibi joined Hope Ventures in the capital deployment into OrderJet.
Commenting on the investment, Mr Haji said: “At OrderJet, we are on a mission to streamline and ease operations for the F&B sector by providing the ultimate dining experience for customers in Bahrain. We are excited about this investment from Hope Ventures and Dr Algosaibi because it helps us in achieving our mission and enables us to expand our services to the rest of the region.”
Fajer Al Pachachi, general manager at Hope Ventures, said: “Beban aims to be a regional investment platform that matchmakes high-potential businesses with investors who exponentially help them scale beyond local borders. OrderJet is a prime example of that; through Beban, the company raised an investment from Hope and Saudi investor Dr Algosaibi, whose expertise will contribute to the company’s growth and expansion.”
Dr Algosaibi expressed pleasure at the chance to take part in Beban season 2 as an investor, as it gave him access to promising businesses in technology, which is a sector of interest for him.
“I am thrilled to be investing alongside Hope Ventures in OrderJet, as I believe the company has tremendous growth and expansion potential. I hope to convey my expertise in technology to OrderJet, and I look forward to having a complementary relationship that takes the company to new horizons and boosts the efforts of supporting youth to compete regionally and globally,” he added.
Besides Dr Algosaibi, episode 2’s panel of investors included Mashael Fairooz, founding partner of JEO Capital and Basel Al Abdulkarim, angel investor and president of EO East Saudi.
Hope Fund chairman Aymen Almoayed moderated the panel and also represented Hope Ventures’ investments.
A new episode of Beban will air every Wednesday this month on Bahrain TV at 6pm and at 9.30pm on Alrai TV. After the telecast, episodes will be available for viewing anytime on the streaming platform Shahid.
