ENDURANCE HORSERACING – Fahad Helal Al Khatri claimed an impressive fourth place as Bahrain’s Royal Endurance Team concluded their participation in the FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses 2026, held in Barroca d’Alva, Portugal.
The meeting featured competitors from all around the world. Al Khatri was joined by a number of other riders from the Royal Endurance Team in their 120-kilometre ride.
They included Khalifa Mubarak Sabt who finished 10th, Jaber Bader Jaafar in 11th, Saud Mubarak Sabt in 13th, and Shaikh Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa in 18th.
Salem Al Kitbi of the UAE claimed first place, while his compatriot Mansour Saeed Al Farsi finished second and Spain’s Blanco Rodrigo came third.
Royal Stables and Royal Endurance Team director general Dr Khalid Ahmed Hassan said the team’s participation in the world championship yielded several positive outcomes.
He noted that securing fourth place, along with several riders finishing in leading positions, reflected their considerable efforts throughout the race.
Dr Hassan congratulated the UAE on securing a one-two in the event.
He added that achievements by GCC riders in international championships are a source of pride and reflect the advanced level reached by endurance sport in the region along with its prominent presence on the international stage.
