AN urgent proposal to ensure that non-Bahraini widows living abroad don’t continue to get monthly pensions for their deceased Bahraini husbands was presented yesterday.
Five MPs, led by Khalid Bu Onk, want the government to provide the Social Insurance Organisation with an updated list to ensure that ineligible widows don’t get paid.
“Some of the widows go abroad and get remarried or die without the authorities in Bahrain knowing about it and they continue transferring amounts,” said Mr Bu Onk.
