Social Development Minister Osama Al Asfoor has praised the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) for chairing the meeting of the GCC Women Affairs Standing Committee, which was established following a proposal by Bahrain.
The minister praised the role played by the SCW, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and SCW president, in supporting Bahraini women, which enabled them to perform their national political, economic and social roles to the fullest, under the comprehensive development project of His Majesty with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He said that the GCC committee was proposed by Bahrain within the framework of the efforts to unite the visions of the GCC to build a competitive society which is equal and sustainable.
He affirmed the ministry’s support to the SCW’s initiatives aimed at supporting the advancement of Bahraini women to become equal partners in achieving more national goals.
