BAHRAIN’S Ambassador to the US Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa participated in the round table session entitled “Cybersecurity Creates New Horizons for the Abrahamic Accords” organised by the Atlantic Council.
UAE Government Cybersecurity head Dr Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Herzog, US Department of Homeland Security Under Secretary for Strategy, Policy, and Plans Robert Silvers were present.
Shaikh Abdullah highlighted the importance of co-operation between countries in the field of cybersecurity and addressing cyberattacks in the region.
He added that the joint work created new horizons for co-operation in the field of cybersecurity, which is a motive for strengthening co-operation and addressing the challenges that impede access to the security goals of the region.
The ambassador further praised the Bahrain-US co-operation and the co-ordination with the concerned countries to build the international alliance for the security and protection of freedom of maritime navigation, which plays a direct role in protecting the stability of global energy prices, referring to the wise approach laid down by His Majesty King Hamad, and with continuous follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance co-operation and exchange of experiences to continue international efforts in enhancing security in the region.
The participants discussed the importance of cybersecurity in the current era, which requires expanding joint frameworks, and finding a mechanism for exchanging experiences and information with countries of common interest on ways to counter cyberattacks.
