The kingdom’s star basketball players gathered together and celebrated at a leading hotel close to their club’s home premises in Juffair.
The Manama Club’s winning ways were commemorated by the K Hotel for making sporting history by becoming the inaugural 2023 Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) West Asia Super League (WASL) champions.
The ceremony held at the property was attended by the club’s president Yousif Zaman along with members of the team’s top management and squad.
The players were congratulated by the K Hotel’s general manager Hussain Al Samahiji for their exceptional performances and success on the court. He also praised His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman and Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their unwavering commitment to supporting local sportsmen and women.
“The victory of Manama Club in the 2023 FIBA WASL was an historic achievement for Bahraini basketball and a testament to the talent, dedication and hard work of the players and the club’s management,” said Mr Al Samahiji.
“The K Hotel is proud to have played a part in honouring this achievement and looks forward to continuing its support for the development of sport in Bahrain and the region.”
