A delegation from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Jordan visited the Expat Protection and Grievances Centre in Sehla run by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). The members were briefed on Bahrain’s efforts in developing a stable work environment that preserves the rights of all parties and learned more about the kingdom’s achievement of the Tier 1 status for the sixth consecutive year in the US Department of State’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report. They were also briefed on the Digital National Referral Mechanism (e-NRM) set up to identify, support and follow up on victims of trafficking in the country. The IOM delegates were informed on the role of the Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combating Trafficking in Persons that offers a solid base of trainers who are regionally recognised.
