A COMPREHENSIVE first-aid workshop was organised for members of the ‘Smile’ initiative, a programme that supports children with cancer and their parents.
Held by the Bahrain Future Society for Youth, the course covered how to administer basic first aid, evaluate injuries, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and deal with heart attacks.
The team also learned how to handle injuries before paramedics arrive at the scene, such as suffocation, burns, bleeding, and fractures, and how to use defibrillators.
“Equipping initiative members with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in emergency response was the workshop’s primary goal,” said society chairman Sabah Al Zayani.
“The objective is to empower them to provide immediate assistance and primary care to injured individuals both within the initiative’s sphere and beyond,” he added.
The workshop was conducted by emergency ambulance technician and first-aid trainer Jamal Al Aziz.
