BAHRAIN’S national handball team is continuing to train for the Asian Games, which will be held in China next month.
The training is led by Iceland’s Aron Kristjansson and his coaching team consisting of assistant coach Asam Abdullah, goalkeeping coach Ahmed Mansoor and fitness coach Ahmed Al Shaikh.
The training sessions focused on physical training and tactics, especially since the team will take part in a training camp in Europe at the end of August.
The national team were the runners-up and silver medallists in the last Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The team is confident especially after the great results achieved by them in recent years, mainly at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where they were among the 12 best teams and in the previous World Cup.
The team is also preparing for the Asian Qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympics, to be held in Doha, Qatar.
The team will be competing in Group 2 against Iran, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, Japan and Kazakhstan.
