A video of a man in the US driving his large Watsui bull around in the passenger seat of his car has been widely circulated across the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Lee Meyer was driving his modified Ford sedan on a highway in Northeast Nebraska with his bull when the Norfolk Police division received a 911 call from locals in the area.
The police expected a small animal, perhaps a calf upon receiving the complaint. However, upon arriving, they realised the animal was a huge white and black Watsui bull named Howdy Doody.
The Watsui bull is a breed of bull that is long-horned and hump-less. It derives from the Ankole group of Sanga cattle breeds from East and Central Africa. Today, it is a modern American breed of domestic cattle. The driver’s wife, Rhonda Meyer, described the bull as her husband’s friend and buddy since he got the bull eight or nine years ago.
The police also noticed Meyer’s sedan was largely modified to be able to fit Howdy Doody. The car door was replaced with a metal barred guardrail, which is typically seen in cattle enclosures. Half the windshield and roof were removed to make space for the bull, while the hood was decorated with an ornament of a set of longhorns.
The police did a traffic stop and let Lee Meyer go with a warning. They also instructed him to take the animal back home and leave the city.
Other videos of Lee driving Howdy Doody around have also been found from 2017 and 2019.
