The International Federation of Bahraini Business and Professional Women Club (BPW Bahrain) will host the Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Economic Empowerment of Women and Young Entrepreneurs later this year.
The event is set to take place at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa from November 5 to 9.
The conference is expected to draw around 300 participants, including BPW International members from around the world, women and young entrepreneurs, and participants from the kingdom and around the world interested in women’s and young people’s economic empowerment.
The conference agenda includes speeches and panel discussions by high-level speakers such as Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, BPW Bahrain president Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, Arab Businesswomen Council president and BPW International Arab Region ambassador Shaikha Dr Hessa Al Abdulla Al Subah, BPW International president Dr Katherine Bushart, and BPW International Asia-Pacific regional co-ordinator Dr Narudee Kiengsiri.
Other speakers include United Nations Under-Secretaries General Sima Bahous and Sanda Ojiambo and International Trade Centre executive director Pamela Hamilton.
From Bahrain, Tamkeen chief executive Maha Mofeez will talk about the sectors supporting entrepreneurship in a session that will be moderated by prominent businesswoman Afnan Al Zayani.
Through its various sessions, the conference will shed light on a variety of regional, national, and international success stories.
In addition to the panel discussions, there will be a number of side events, such as an exhibition of the work and products of Bahraini entrepreneurs and talents of the BPW Bahrain, a reception and gala dinner in honour of the delegations attending the conference, as well as tourism and recreation programmes.
