His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has highlighted the importance of empowering Bahrain’s workforce and enhancing their contributions to the kingdom’s development, led by His Majesty King Hamad.
“Investing in the public sector workforce is a priority to enhance the productivity of government services,” he said.
HRH Prince Salman made the remarks as he met the eighth intake of the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme, at Gudaibiya Palace, yesterday.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed that the efforts of the national workforce and successes of Team Bahrain were a source of pride for all.
He commended the tireless efforts of fellows during their assignment at the Prime Minister’s Office, where they demonstrated ‘exceptional professionalism and a great sense of responsibility’.
He affirmed that the youngsters enhanced their skills and the efficiency of government work streams while pursuing the programme’s objectives.
HRH Prince Salman commended the final projects presented by the fellows, which they implemented during their one-year tenure.
He affirmed the sense of pride and loyalty from all members of Team Bahrain for their achievements, urging them to continue their efforts for the betterment of the kingdom.
The members of the eighth batch of the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and their appreciation for his commitment to supporting and developing the kingdom’s workforce.
They pledged to continue their efforts for the betterment of the kingdom.
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad Al Malki also attended the meeting.
The PM Fellowship Programme was launched in 2015 to help mentor and prepare exceptional young Bahrainis from various government entities for a career in public service leadership.
Selected individuals spend a year working as full-time research fellows in the Prime Minister’s Office, benefiting from advanced training in writing skills, research methods and policy analysis, both in-house and through the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration.
Fellows also benefit from the opportunity to interact with – and learn from – decision-makers at the highest levels of government. Following this, they will return to their ministries where they will remain points of contact for the Prime Minister’s Office.
The fellowship, which is open to all bilingual government employees with requisite degrees, forms a core pillar of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s initiative to improve national skills and support the kingdom’s growing cadre of young government professionals.
