The class of 2026 at Bahrain School celebrated with family and friends at a special weekend dinner at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa.
Faculty and parents were determined to mark the special occasion for the pupils whose normal graduation ceremony was thwarted by the Iranian aggression.
Bahrain School, a Department of Defence Education Activity school located in Juffair, as reported in the GDN, had to cease ‘in-person’ classes due to the situation.

“These are amazing young people who have gone through many challenges during their school lives, from a pandemic to conflict, yet have achieved outstanding results and secured top university and college places around the world,” said Elaine Spencer, Dormitory Director, who helped organise the function.
“We were keen to arrange a formal but fun get-together for as many of them still in the kingdom or staying with their parents in neighbouring Saudi Arabia. We are grateful for the unlimited support we are provided by the BISA Board chaired by Mohamed Alkhateeb, who attended with the BISA Treasurer Habib Jawad. Mr Alkhateeb presented the soon-to-be graduates with token certificates and gift bags.”
The Class of 2026 teenagers, all aged around 17, proudly wore graduation attire and celebrated in traditional fashion by throwing their mortarboards skywards on stage.

The famous tradition of tossing these caps into the air began in 1912 at the United States Naval Academy, where newly-commissioned officers were issued new hats and threw their old student caps into the air to celebrate.
The evening also featured motivational messages and reflections from successful Bahrain School alumni and senior management. The student addresses were made by Hasan Al Saad and Dean Hansen.
