Bahrain Ship Repair and Engineering Company (BASREC) has appointed Narjis Almoosawi as secretary of the company’s board of directors, making her the first Bahraini woman to hold this position in the company’s history.
Board of directors chairman Fawzi Kanoo said: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Narjis Almoosawi to this important position, becoming the first woman to hold this position throughout the company’s history, which has exceeded 60 years.
“This decision comes based on the great efforts she has made in developing the back office system – managing the company’ performance since her appointment, and it is worth noting that Ms Almoosawi works as the company’s chief human resources officer and compliance officer.”
She also holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in management and many other professional certificates. She also has many years of experience in the public and private sectors.
He extended his sincere congratulations to Ms Almoosawi on this well-deserved promotion, wishing her further success in her work.
