Bahrain is proud of the achievements accomplished by its citizens, His Majesty King Hamad said as the country gears up to celebrate its National Day.
His Majesty congratulated them as he received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Sakhir Palace yesterday.
Bahrain will celebrate its National Day and the Accession of the King to the throne on Saturday and Sunday.
The King praised HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s dedicated efforts to serve the nation and develop the government’s work across all sectors.
He also commended the government’s efforts to provide services in different regions of Bahrain.
His Majesty also congratulated Saudi Arabia on winning the bid to host the Expo 2030, describing the achievement as reflecting the kingdom’s standing in the world and the international confidence in its capacity and readiness to host the global event successfully.
He commended the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the follow-up of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Expo 2030 will take place from October 1, 2030 to April 1, 2031 in Riyadh.
Results of Bahrain’s constructive and fruitful participation in the World Climate Action Summit, part of the 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties To the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), in Dubai Expo City, were also reviewed.
In this regard, the King stressed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at finding practical solutions to climate challenges and reducing its repercussions.
He congratulated UAE President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his country’s successful hosting of the COP28, praising his efforts and initiatives to support global climate action to serve the humanity.
The results of the 44th GCC Summit, which was held last week in Qatar, also came under the spotlight.
The King said that the outcome of the meeting would have a positive impact on strengthening GCC co-operation and achieving further progress and prosperity.
His Majesty thanked the Amir of Qatar, Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his warm hospitality, which reflected solid fraternal relations.
The King also stressed Bahrain’s successful organisation of regional and international championships, races and events, which confirmed its standing as an ideal destination for all sports that enjoyed world popularity.
He commended the role played by his representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to further develop sport in Bahrain.
