Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam has stressed Bahrain’s commitment to bolstering the values of tolerance and coexistence, and supporting human rights and democratic practices.
These are established national pillars, he told UK House of Lords vice president Lord Simon Russell during a meeting in Bahrain yesterday.
He highlighted the ‘Bahrain Declaration’, which was issued by the 33rd Arab Summit held in Bahrain.
The Parliament speaker urged all efforts to be harnessed to achieve peace, security and stability in the region, and strengthen partnerships, strategic dialogues and joint co-operation with international blocs and friendly countries at all levels.
The Speaker commended strong historical relations and close partnership between Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
