Artificial intelligence, improved disclosure practices and managing quarterly earnings were top of the agenda at a recent meeting of the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) Bahrain Chapter, held at the Bahrain Bourse.
The meeting aimed to update participants on the latest trends and topics in investor relations (IR). Presentations by industry professionals, including Sophie Schmitt (Notified), Nicolas Robert (APCO), and Faisal Kanth (Fairvue Partners), explored the transformative impact of AI on IR and strategies for enhancing disclosure practices within companies. Participants actively participated, sharing feedback and experiences.
Marketing and communications senior director at Bahrain Bourse and MEIRA board member Marwa AlMaskati highlighted the importance of the chapter meeting: “This platform allows industry professionals to stay ahead of the curve in IR. By integrating AI and improving disclosure, we can significantly elevate the IR function.”
MEIRA chief executive Paolo Casamassima emphasised the value of collaboration with Bahrain Bourse: “Our partnership is instrumental in promoting best practices in IR across the region. These meetings are crucial for knowledge sharing and equipping companies for effective investor engagement.”
Established in April 2019 by Bahrain Bourse and MEIRA, the Bahrain Chapter has spearheaded initiatives like IR workshops, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices among listed companies. This collaboration has significantly contributed to advancing the IR landscape in Bahrain.
Bahrain Bourse itself has been a driving force in adopting best practices and empowering listed companies. Initiatives include their Investor Relations Best Practice Guide launched in May 2021 and co-hosting the MEIRA Annual Conference with the Central Bank of Bahrain in November 2023.
