The 26-year-old Indian expatriate from Adliya was delighted about his hat-trick of successes in the contest. “I am thrilled and honoured to have been selected by the judges once again,” he said. “Winning for the third time is truly a remarkable achievement, and I couldn’t be more ecstatic.
“It’s a testament to the passion and dedication I have for writing and I am grateful for the recognition and support from the judges. Once again, thank you.”
Mighty teenager Midhun Milton, a prolific poet, pulled at the heartstrings with his latest entry called Dying Star which has also attracted more than 2,000 views in the last month. (Click here to read Midhun's entry)
Judge Chris Fenton, head teacher of the British Primary Department at Al Noor International School, was also impressed, saying the entry ‘stood out’.
“I liked your imaginative use of language as it really helped me to understand the feelings you were describing,” was his message to the 17-year-old. “Very well done!” he added.
The Asian School Bahrain pupil lives in Adliya with his parents, father Milton, an executive secretary, and mother, Bindhu. “This poem is a reminder to all who are constant in what they are doing, to introspect their past, to help them understand what it feels like to fall in love again,” he said. “I’m passionate about writing poetry and it feels great to win again.”
