Gulf Hotels Group has announced a strategic partnership with Marriott International to integrate its iconic Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa into the prestigious Autograph Collection Hotels portfolio.
The agreement was signed at the Future Hospitality Summit in Dubai yesterday.
The Autograph Collection, boasting over 300 unique hotels worldwide, offers personalised service and distinctive experiences. By joining the collection, Gulf Hotel Bahrain will benefit from Marriott’s global systems and loyalty programme, Marriott Bonvoy, while retaining its iconic name and remaining under the full management of Gulf Hotels Group.
Marriott Bonvoy provides members with access to transformative experiences across 30 hotel brands and 10,000 destinations. As part of the Autograph Collection, Gulf Hotel Bahrain will offer guests enhanced opportunities to experience the hotel’s unique design and hospitality while enjoying the benefits of Marriott’s world-class loyalty programme.
Gulf Hotels Group chief executive Ahmed Janahi expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that it will enhance Gulf Hotel Bahrain’s legacy and attract visitors from diverse markets. The collaboration will also leverage the advantages of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme.
The agreement includes a three-year renovation plan to modernise Gulf Hotel Bahrain’s interior, including guest rooms, lobby, entrance, amenities, and recreation facilities. The renovation will ensure the hotel continues to deliver the highest standards of comfort and service while preserving its distinctive character.
Ziad AbiRaad, senior director of lodging development at Marriott International, highlighted the Autograph Collection’s focus on individuality and expressed enthusiasm for preserving Gulf Hotel Bahrain’s legacy. He emphasised the partnership’s potential to enhance Marriott’s portfolio in Bahrain and contribute to the growth of the country’s tourism sector.
