A pastor who regularly trains in MMA managed to fight back and subdue an axe-wielding burglar who had broken into his church on Thanksgiving.
When Pastor Nick Neves of the First Family Church in Antioch, California, received a security alarm about a disturbance at the church on Thanksgiving, he rushed right over. On arriving, he discovered that an axe-wielding burglar had broken into the church and was now looking for things to steal.
Startled, the burglar tried to fight the pastor. But what the unnamed individual didn't know was that this particular pastor was very well-versed in kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts.
However, upon learning about his opponent's unique skills, the burglar tried to make a run for it, but the pastor grabbed ahold of him. The pastor then wrestled with the burglar for 15 minutes before subduing and holding him down in the church's parking lot until the police arrived.
The Antioch Police Department eventually arrived and took the man into custody, while Pastor Nick walked away unscathed.
