Twenty-eight Indian fishermen, who were recently released from Bahraini jails after their sentences were commuted from six to three months, have been repatriated, the Indian Embassy announced yesterday.
The mission provided the men with legal assistance and facilitated their return under the Indian government’s Indian Community Relief Fund.
“We thank the Bahraini authorities for their co-operation and swift response including for providing consular access,” said an embassy statement.
