A 42-year-old Indian national has been repatriated from Bahrain after critical medical and legal intervention.
The Pravasi Legal Cell (PLC) Bahrain Chapter, headed by its president Sudheer Thirunilath, has successfully facilitated the repatriation of Mani Prasad Adkadkam to his hometown in Kasargod, Kerala.
“This monumental effort was achieved with the legal expertise of advocate Tariq Alown, leading to the lifting of three travel bans and enabling Mr Adkadkam to return to India for life-saving medical treatment,” said Mr Thirunilath.
“Mr Adkadkam has been battling severe health complications, including decompensated congestive cardiac failure, renal impairment and acute gout.
“His deteriorating condition required recurrent hospitalisations at Salmaniya Medical Complex and KIMS Health Hospital in Bahrain.”
It has been revealed that most recently, he faced severe decompensated heart failure and a spreading leg infection, with doctors indicating a possible leg amputation and advanced treatments, such as a cardiac transplant or biventricular assist device (BiVAD), which are only available in India.”
Indian Ambassador Vinod Jacob and officials at the Indian Embassy helped throughout the process, alongside Karunya Kuttaiyma, Hope Bahrain, Prathibha Bahrain and individuals like Nithin, Rajeev Vellikoth and Ali Faqihi, who also provided invaluable support.
