Senior Royal Family members, ministers, government officials and diplomats have congratulated His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the successful launch of Bahrain’s Al Munther satellite, highlighting its role in strengthening the kingdom’s position in space.
National Security Adviser, Royal Guard Commander, and Supreme Defence Council secretary general Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, on the successful launch.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser highlighted that Al Munther is the first Bahraini satellite developed using innovative Bahraini expertise, representing a significant step in the kingdom’s efforts to localise space technology and keep pace with global scientific advancements. He also lauded the NSSA team for their dedication and perseverance in overcoming challenges during the project’s development.
The King received a cable of congratulations from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and Supreme Council for Women president, on the successful launch of Al Munther satellite into orbit.
His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister received cables of congratulations from His Majesty the King’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Isa Bin Salman Education Charitable Trust board of trustees chairman and Labour Fund (Tamkeen) board of directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on the successful launch of the satellite into orbit.
Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa commended the successful launch of Al Munther satellite, highlighting its role in strengthening the kingdom’s position in space, remote sensing and advanced technology.
He attributed this achievement to the leadership of the King, the support of HRH Prince Salman, and the guidance of Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser.
The minister emphasised that the success of Al Munther will drive further progress in space and technology, encouraging investment in national expertise.
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said that Bahrain continues to advance its national aspirations and achievements.
Shaikh Salman noted that this milestone reflects the dedication of Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser in supporting and empowering national talent in the domains of industry, technology and space sciences. He added that this emphasises Bahrain’s commitment to progress in scientific and technological advancements.
Bahrain Chamber chairman Sameer Nass praised the launch of Al Munther. He described it as a landmark achievement that highlights Bahrain’s advancements in science and technology. Mr Nass emphasised that this project is a strategic step toward strengthening national expertise in space sciences and harnessing modern applications in this critical sector.
Mr Nass reaffirmed Bahrain Chamber’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the kingdom’s regional and global standing in promising sectors. He emphasised that investment in space sciences will positively impact Bahrain’s economy and help establish the kingdom as a regional hub for innovation and advanced technology.
