A two-month-long seasonal ban on catching sheri, safi and andaq fish begins on April 1 (Tuesday) and will last until May 31, the Supreme Council for Environment announced today.
The council stated that the decision aligns with Bahrain’s efforts to preserve marine resources, restore ecological balance, rehabilitate ecosystems and ensure sustainable fish supply in the local markets.
Fishermen who accidentally catch these fish have been urged to release them immediately back into the sea, ensuring their safety and survival.
