Gulf Air, the national carrier of the kingdom and title sponsor of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, marked a historic occasion with its popular flypast during this year’s event.
The flypast on this occasion held special significance as it commemorated Gulf Air’s 75th anniversary, coinciding with Formula 1’s own 75th anniversary celebration, the airline said.
The flypast showcased Gulf Air’s flagship Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a state-of-the-art aircraft that reflects the airline’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The event served as a powerful tribute to Gulf Air’s role as a cornerstone of the aviation industry in the region and Bahrain’s prominent position on the global motorsport stage, it pointed out.
“More than just an operational highlight, the flypast symbolised decades of partnership and progress between Gulf Air and Formula 1. Gulf Air has been the proud title sponsor of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix since its inception in 2004, playing a key role in supporting Bahrain’s position as a global hub for world-class events.
“The airline extends its heartfelt congratulations to the kingdom’s leadership for the continued success of this prestigious sports event. Through the support of His Majesty King Hamad and the commendable efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister has solidified its position as a leading player in the international sports arena.”
This year’s flypast celebrated Gulf Air’s remarkable 75-year journey and symbolised a bright future – not only for the airline, but also for Formula 1 and Bahrain. It served not just as a tribute to the past, but as a promise for the future; one defined by innovation, connectivity, and continued growth, the airline said in a statement.
