Bahrain SMEs Development Society appointed Mohammed Farouk Almoayyed honorary president, succeeding his late father, Farouk Almoayyed, now recognised as founding president.
The decision was unanimous at the society’s general assembly, chaired by re-elected chairman MP Ahmed Al Salloom.
Mr Al Salloom said Mohammed Almoayyed would build on his father’s SME support with his own vision to boost investment and entrepreneurship. “His father’s legacy...remains an inspiration,” he noted.
Mohammed Almoayyed expressed pride in the role, pledging to continue his father’s work empowering entrepreneurs and SMEs, the “backbone of the national economy.”
The assembly elected its 2025-2027 board, naming Capital Trustees Board vice-chairwoman Khulood Al Qattan as vice-president.
Other appointments included Hamed Dhaif as financial secretary and Hussain Al Meer as general secretary.
The meeting also approved 2024 reports and the 2025 budget.
Mr Al Salloom underscored the society’s alignment with national SME support initiatives and the Economic Recovery Plan, emphasising the sector’s importance and the need for collaboration.
