National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has announced the promotion of Ali Abdulkarim to group chief executive for corporate and commercial banking.
In recent years, Mr Abdulkarim has taken on increasing leadership responsibilities, driving growth across NBB’s corporate, public sector, financial institutions and commercial banking segments, the bank said in a statement.
“His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening client relationships, expanding coverage, and aligning segment strategies with the Group’s strategic objectives.
“Bringing nearly three decades of banking experience, with regional and international insights, Mr Abdulkarim will join NBB’s executive management team and key governance forums. This appointment underscores NBB’s commitment to developing Bahraini talent for executive leadership roles.”
NBB has also announced the promotion of Zaina Al Zayani to group chief strategy and sustainability officer.
Ms Al Zayani has successfully undertaken additional leadership responsibilities, further strengthening the group’s strategic growth and sustainability agenda.
She has played a key role in developing NBB’s multi-year expansion strategy and continues to manage its equity investment portfolio.
Her contributions have been vital in enhancing the group’s long-term positioning and sustainability efforts.
Ms Al Zayani will also be a member of NBB’s executive management team. This appointment reflects the NBB Group’s dedication to investing in the development of national talent.
