Shaikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, witnessed the announcement of the Disney Theme Park Resort project on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, following a strategic partnership between The Walt Disney Company and Miral.
Shaikh Khaled emphasized the project's significance in bolstering the UAE and Abu Dhabi's leading position in leisure tourism and highlighted the creative economy's role in economic diversification.
The new resort, Disney's seventh globally, will be developed and built by Miral on Yas Island waterfront. Disney will oversee creative design and operations, ensuring a world-class experience. Miral will operate the destination upon completion.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, stated the collaboration blends visionary leadership and creative excellence to create a "whole new world of imagination."
Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, hailed Abu Dhabi's global position and vision as ideal for reaching new families with a "cultural, entertainment and technological marvel."
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, noted the resort will feature groundbreaking design and technology, including a unique modern castle.
The announcement was attended by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Saif Saeed Ghobash, and Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi.
