HORSERACING – THE Bahrain Jockey Foundation (BJF) held a meeting with the Bahraini riders’ team who are set to depart for the UK for a training programme at The British Racing School.
The initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) to qualify and develop Bahraini jockeys.
BJF acting director Mohammed Ahmed Al Nema met with the jockeys and apprentice jockeys on scholarship from the Bahrain Jockey Academy prior to their departure.
The scholarships and training programme are directly supported by the REHC High Committee, chaired by Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as part of its commitment to investing in human resources and raising the efficiency of Bahraini jockeys according to the best international standards adopted in the world of horseracing.
The meeting is aimed at providing guidance and advice to the riders before they embark on their training and to motivate them to make the most of the experience.
Al Nema emphasised that the BJF continues to work to implement initiatives to qualify talented jockeys, in partnership with relevant authorities, with the aim of building a strong base of professionals capable of representing the kingdom in the regional and international arenas.
The riders expressed their appreciation for the great support they receive from the REHC High Committee and the management, and emphasised their keenness to represent Bahrain in an honourable manner.
