ST Petersburg International Economic Forum kicked off yesterday in the Russian city of St Petersburg, with the participation of a high-profile delegation from Bahrain, taking part as guests of honour.
The kingdom’s participation in this year’s edition reflects the depth of economic and diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Russia and underscores the kingdom’s keenness on strengthening its presence at major international platforms.
The Bahraini delegation includes economists and representatives from both the public and private sectors to promote the investment opportunities offered by Bahrain and enhance cooperation with major global companies and economic institutions.
Bahrain Chamber chairman Sameer Nass told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej that Bahrain will sign seven memoranda of understanding with several Russian chambers of commerce during its participation in the forum. This move aims to expand the scope of cooperation and develop partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.
The Bahrain-Russia Business Council meeting will also convene during the forum, Mr Nass said.
The forum also featured the opening of Bahrain’s national pavilion, which was designed to reflect the diversity of the Bahraini economy and its future outlook.
