FUTSAL – Bahrain’s men’s futsal national team registered a 1-0 victory over their counterparts from Hong Kong last night in a friendly match played in the kingdom.
Salman Al Mulla was on target for the Bahrainis with the game’s lone goal.
The two teams are set to face off once again in another tune-up scheduled for tomorrow. The fixtures are taking place at the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) futsal hall located at the BFA premises in Riffa.
The nationals are gearing up for future competitions, including the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers, which are scheduled to take place next month.
Bahrain are in qualification’s Group B, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, along with the host Thais, South Korea, and Brunei Darussalam.
There are 31 nations competing in qualifying, divided into seven groups of four and one group of three. Each is being held at a centralised location.
Group A will take place in Kuwait, Group C in Tajikistan, Group D in Saudi Arabia, Group E in China, Group F in Kyrgyzstan, Group G in Malaysia, and Group H in Myanmar.
The eight group winners and the seven best-ranked runners-up from the Qualifiers will join hosts Indonesia at the 18th edition of next year’s finals, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from January 27 to February 7.
